No. 20 North Carolina Continues Hot Start with 3-1 Win Over Ball State

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Fifty assists from senior setter Eve Rackham and 12 kills and eight blocks by senior middle hitter Holly Strauss gave the No. 20 North Carolina volleyball team a 3-1 win against Ball State (3-5) at the University of Minnesota's Nike Invitational.

The Tar Heels (7-0) also had strong performances by senior outside hitter Malaika Underwood and sophomore middle hitter Katie Wright. Underwood recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 13 digs. Wright recorded a career-high 12 kills on 24 attempts and also registered her first career service ace.

North Carolina dropped the Game 1 of the match for the first time this season, falling to the Cardinals 30-22. UNC battled back with a 33-31 win in the second game. The team went on to win Game 3 30-23 and Game 4 30-22. The team is a perfect 4-0 in the fourth game this season.

Tomorrow at noon the Tar Heels will face Oregon State, before taking on the host Minnesota Gophers at 8 p.m. (ET). The Gophers are ranked No. 13 in the nation.
