SAN DIEGO, Calif.-The No. 23 North Carolina volleyball team defeated Montana tonight 3-0 in the Jenny Craig Pavilion at the University of San Diego, giving the Grizzlies (4-1) their first loss of the season.
With a team-high 10 kills, 13 digs and four service aces, senior outside hitter Laura Greene led the Tar Heels (4-0) to victory 30-18, 30-25 and 30-19 in their first match at the University of San Diego Classic.
Senior setter Eve Rackham recorded 24 assists as Montana hit just .055 with 27 hitting errors. Seniors Malaika Underwood and Holly Strauss recorded six blocks each to lead the team.
The Tar Heels are next in action Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. (ET) when they take on Northwestern.
