Tar Heels Ranked 14th In Latest Volleyball Poll


Team Closes Regular Season Friday Hosting Marquette.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-North Carolina is ranked No. 14 in the latest USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll released Monday. The team hosts its regular season finale this Friday at 2 p.m. vs. Marquette in Carmichael Auditorium.

The team fell from 12th in the poll after being upset by unranked Florida State in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament last weekend. The team is now 29-3 and finished the ACC regular season 15-1. They have been ranked in the Top 25 for 12 straight weeks.

Against Marquette the team will look for its sixth 30-win season in history and the first since 1985. The team has already clinched the highest single-season winning percentage, passing 1999's .824 mark.
