Win Over No. 10 Wisconsin Gets Team National Recognition

The University of North Carolina volleyball team is ranked No. 23 in the nation, according to the Sept. 2 USA Today/AVCA Coaches Poll. Last season, the Tar Heels cracked the Top 25 in just one week of the season.

The Tar Heels (3-0) topped Wisconsin 3-1 in the finals fo the Carolina/Nike Classic gaining the national recognition. Wisconsin fell from No. 10 to No. 16 in Monday's poll.

On their way to the tournament championship, Carolina also topped New Mexico State 3-0 and St. John's 3-0.

Next weekend, Carolina travels to San Diego for the University of San Diego Classic.
